Quality Management in the R/3 System

The Quality Management component (QM) is part of the integrated R/3 System. Use the QM component functions for the following quality management work:

• Quality planning

• Quality assurance

• Quality control

The QM component shares master data, in particular the material master, with other components. It can be triggered from other components and can affect processes in other components.

The QM component is most effective when implemented with the following other components:

• Materials Management MM (Procurement, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management)

• Production Planning PP or PP-PI

• Sales and Distribution SD

• Plant Maintenance PM

• Controlling CO.
