Example: Triggering a Milestones - Function 

The activities which immediately follow activity 0040 in network 40000906 should be released when the activity is confirmed.

Procedure in Milestone Maintenance

Create a milestone for activity 40. You maintain the following fields on the Functions tab page of the Milestone detail screen

  1. Set the Functions indicator.
  2. Select the function Release following activities.
  3. Enter the system status CNF for confirmed in the Syst.Sts field.
  4. Set the Change Status indicator to +.
    The function is then triggered, when the status is set.
  5. Set the Once indicator.
    The function is then only executed once.

You leave the field Activa (Activate) blank, since the function is to be triggered by the status change.

Procedure during Confirmation

If you set the Final Confirmation indication when you are confirming activity 40, you receive a message, when you save, stating that functions are assigned to the operation via milestones. The system asks you if you want to execute the function. Confirm this.

A dialog box appears in which the milestone function, the network and the corresponding activity are listed. The function is executed after you have confirmed this question..
