The system determines the controlling area and company code when you create a network and enter a plant on the initial screen. These values can not be changed.

If you want to assign a network or an activity in an activity-assigned network to a WBS element, you must make sure that the plant of the network or the activities and the plant of the WBS element belong to the same controlling area.

For networks with header account assignment, all activities and activity elements must belong to the same company code as the plant in the network header.

For networks with activity account assignment, every plant in every activity and activity element must belong to the same controlling area as the plant in the network header.

In addition, you can specify the following organizational data for the network:

profit center

business area

jurisdiction code

object class

The object class is used for the business classification of controlling objects, for example, overhead cost management (Overhead Costs OC), investment controlling (Investment - IV).

In reconciliation ledger reporting within Controlling these cost flows can be displayed across all applications according to object class.

Currency in Networks

You can only change the object currency up to the partial release or release of the network, if the currencies in the company codes are not different from the currency in the controlling area. Otherwise, the system uses currency in the company code as the object currency and you cannot change it.
