Including WBS Elements in the Project Hierarchy

Use

You can copy WBS elements into a current project structure. As templates you can use WBS elements

From the current project
From another work breakdown structure
From a standard work breakdown structure

Procedure

1. Select the WBS element where you want to include the new WBS element.

2. Choose Project ® Copy from.

A dialog box appears.

3. Select either of the tab pages, Standard WBS or Operative WBS.

If you want to copy a WBS element from the current project or a WBS element from another project, choose Operative WBS.

4. Enter

- Which WBS element you want to include

If the WBS element to be included has additional WBS elements subordinate to it, the system automatically copies these lower-level hierarchy elements.

- Whether you want to include the new WBS element at the same hierarchy level as the selected WBS element or below it.

- Which options to use when including the WBS element:

Option	Effect
Right/Left	The WBS element is positioned to the right or to the left of the selected WBS element in the hierarchy.
With/without root	With root: The selected WBS element is included. Without root: Only the subordinate WBS elements are included.

5. Choose WBS element overview.

The Copy structure screen appears.

6. Select the WBS element(s) that you want to include.

7. Give the new WBS elements new numbers by using either the Predefine or Replace function.

8. Choose Include.

The system includes the WBS element(s).
