Creating Standard Work Breakdown Structures

Before you create a standard work breakdown structure, you should plan the work carefully since it is not possible to delete or archive standard project definitions. You can only delete or archive individual standard WBS elements.

The procedure for creating a standard work breakdown structure is basically the same as for creating a normal work breakdown structure, however some functions such as document management, progress analysis or settlement rules are not available. When you create a standard WBS a standard project definition is automatically created. We recommend that you read the information in Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) before you create a standard WBS.

  1. From the R/3 main menu choose Accounting or Logistics ® Project management ® Basic data.
  2. Choose Standard structures ® Standard WBS ® Create.
    The initial screen appears.
  3. Enter the following:
  1. Choose to enter the organizational data for the project definition.
The Create Std. WBS: Project Def. Basic Data screen appears.
  2. Enter the relevant organizational data.
  3. Choose . The WBS element overview screen appears. Here you can enter details of the WBS elements.
  4. You can go to the detail screen for individual WBS elements by double-clicking on the WBS element key. Here you can also enter detail data.
  5. Save your data.
