Establish Organizational Units (Plants, ...)

You must implement this step if you want to use the QM application component in organizational units that are not contained in the standard system.

Only part of the organizational structure is important for the QM component. Most master data and Customizing tables in QM are at client level and can be used and are valid in all organizational units. A range of master data and Customizing tables are at plant level . Only very few Customizing settings relate to other organizational units, such as,
company code,
storage location,
shipping point.

Requirements

The organizational structure of your company has been represented in the R/3 System.

Standard Settings

In the standard system, only one organizational unit for each type is predefined. For example, there is only one plant - 0001. Large companies must therefore expand the organizational structure considerably.

Recommendation

Use the sample entries that are contained in the standard system as copy models. Only delete the organizational units and corresponding table entries copied from the standard system, once you have implemented the steps listed below.

Setting up new company code
