Funds Commitment

Definition

Report that displays all funds committed to a particular sales order. This reports help to give you an overview of the following:

This report is found in the detailed reports category of the Information System for Product Cost by Sales Order.

Use

You should use this report when working with sales order production with valuated sales order stock and carrying out Product Cost by Sales Order by means of a sales order item with costs and revenues.

With valuated sales order stock, the costs for individual requirements materials are assigned to the sales order item with costs and revenues at the time of delivery to the customers. All costs that have arisen in connection with this sales order item during production or external procurement of individual requirements materials can be displayed before they are assigned to the sales order item.

This report also gives you information on future actual costs. These contractual commitments are updated as commitments on the relevant sales order items. Commitments are canceled when actual costs are implemented.

If you use nonvaluated sales order stock, you can not have funds commitment displayed in inventory, because all individual requirements materials are delivered to sales order stock without a value. An up-to-date display of the actual funds commitment is, therefore, not possible.

Structure

The report offers a representation by cost element for:

These costs are updated on the sales order item as statistical values, so that you can display the costs committed in the sales order stock on the relevant sales order item at any time.

This statistical value is displayed in the report "Funds Commitment" in the column Funds Commitment. When you enter a goods receipt for the valuated sales order stock, the value of the funds commitment rises correspondingly. You enter a goods receipt for the sales order stock when a product produced internally or procured externally for individual requirements is delivered to stock.

When customer delivery takes place, the funds committed in sales order stock are reduced, the values displayed in the column "Funds Commitment" are reduced, and the values displayed in the column "Actual costs" rise correspondingly.

The costs that were assigned directly to the sales order item are displayed here. These are, for example, the costs that are incurred during goods delivery to customers (costs that, up to then, were displayed in the column "Funds Commitment") and also other costs that were assigned directly to the sales order item (special direct costs of sales, costs for packaging, etc.).

In the report you can switch between the controlling area currency and company code currency displays.
