Procedure

You can create milestones in networks, standard networks, work breakdown structures (WBS) and standard work breakdown structures (standard WBS). You can also create milestones for activities and WBS elements together in the project planning board and structure planning.

You cannot create milestone for activity elements.

Creating Milestones in Networks, Standard Networks, WBS or Standard WBS

  1. Call up a network or WBS.
  2. Goto the activity or WBS element overview.
  3. Select an activity or a WBS element, and then choose Activity ® Milestone overview or WBS element ® Milestone overview.

    4. You can use the function keys Std. milestone and Mile. group in the milestone overview to insert a standard milestone or a milestone group.

  4. Maintain the milestone data.

    5. The system will automatically assign a number to the milestone.

    If you enter a key in the field Usage that was also maintained for the standard milestone, you can copy the standard milestone data directly.

  5. Select the milestone and choose Details ® Milestone.
  6. Maintain the data on the details screen.

    7. For instance, you can set the Sales document date indicator or Trend analysis indicator here.

    You can also maintain data for milestone functions for activity milestones here.

  7. Choose Back.
  8. Save your data.

Creating milestones in the project planning board

  1. Call up the project planning board for an existing project.
  2. Select an activity or a WBS element, and then choose Edit ® Create ® Milestone.
  3. Maintain the milestone data.

    4. If you want to create more milestones for the activity or WBS element, choose...Milestone

  4. Choose Continue.
  5. Save the project planning board.

Creating milestones in structure planning

  1. Call up the structure planning for an existing project.
  2. Select an activity or WBS element.

The network activity overview appears. Create milestones as in network maintenance.

The work breakdown structure WBS overview appears. Create milestones as in WBS maintenance.
