Define Number Assignment for Reservations

In this step, you set up number assignment for reservations.

The number assignment applies to all plants in the client.

Note

Only internal number assignment is possible for reservations.

Default settings

In the standard SAP R/3 System, the number range 01 with the interval 0000000001 - 9999999999 is defined for reservations.

Actions

1. Decide whether you can use the SAP default settings.
2. If this is not the case, you must set the interval according to your needs.
3. Define the interval for number range 01.
You do not need to maintain the object "No. range res/dep rq," unless you would like to use a different number range.

Additional information

For performance reasons, the reservation numbers (20 numbers) are buffered on the application server. As a result, there may be gaps in number assignment.

Note on transport

You transport number range objects as follows:

In the initial screen, choose Interval -> Transport.

Note that all intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.

Dependent tables are not transported or converted.

The assignment of the number range is linked to the automatic transport.
