Syntax group
definition
In this activity you define syntax groups for
operating systems. The syntax group is used to group operating systems with
identical syntax for filenames and paths. As a result, the number of the
logical paths to be defined can be reduced. The definition consists of the
following values:
Name to be assigned
freely, for example DOS.
Descriptive short
text.
Maximum length of a
filename in operating systems in the syntax group concerned.
Indicates that a
file name extension is allowed in operating systems in the syntax group
concerned.
Indicates that the
syntax group is relevant for the current system configuration. This means that
the overview created using transaction sf07 will include filenames and paths
for this syntax group (see Run analyses).
Activities
1. Check whether a syntax group with the required syntax for
filenames and paths already exists.
2. Define a new syntax group if
necessary.
