Assignment of
physical paths to logical path
Conversion of a logical path to a physical path
is dependent on operating systems. For this reason, generally several physical
paths are assigned to one logical path.
An assignment of a physical path to a logical
path consists of the following values:
Name of the logical
file path to which the physical path is assigned
Short description of
the logical file path
Name of the syntax
group for which the physical path applies
Platform-specific
path. It may contain reserved words as placeholders that are replaced by
system values at runtime. It must include the reserved word <FILENAME>
as placeholder for the filename.
Activities
1. In the Logical file paths view, select the
logical path whose physical paths you want to see or
define.
2. Switch to the Assignment of physical paths to
logical path view.
3. Where necessary, define a physical path for the logical path
chosen, for each relevant syntax group. Choose the field help for the physical
path field to see the reserved words you can use as placeholders in physical
paths.
Requirements
Note
If at runtime no physical path can be found for
the logical path under the current operating system, the path defined in the
current system's DIR_GLOBAL profile parameter is used instead.
