Error Detection and Analysis

There are three ways in which you can deal with errors that occur during data transfer:

Send a mail to the employee responsible for data transfer errors
Analyze the system log
Evaluating Communication Documents

To carry out these functions in the system, proceed as follows:

In the SAP menu, select Logistics ® Logistics Execution ® Internal Whse Processes ® R/2-R/3 Link.

You see the screen R/2-R/3 Link.

Choose

Error analysis ® Incoming mail if you want to determine whether mails have been entered regarding a data transfer error.

Error analysis ® System log if you want to analyze the system log.

Error analysis ® Evaluate commun.doc. if you want to display and analyze the communication documents received.

Displaying Incoming Mail

Depending on the settings made in Customizing, you receive a mail if a data transfer error occurs. On the basis of the information in this mail, you can carry out an error analysis.

You can call up the mail from your mail inbox.

Displaying System Logs

The system log is a list of errors and occurrences in the SAP System. For example, it contains entries on program and transaction terminations or data base errors on which you can call up more detailed information. This gives you information on how the problem can be solved.
