Allocating a Bill of Material to a Plant
Use
From an organizational perspective, all maintenance bills of material (BOMs) are valid for a particular maintenance planning plant. The planning plant is therefore the area of validity. All the maintenance tasks required are organized in this planning plant.
However, it is possible to allocate a BOM to another maintenance planning plant or several maintenance planning plants, provided that the components in the BOM are also managed in the other plants.

Master records for equipment and functional locations are created in a planning plant. Therefore when you allocate a bill of material (BOM) for a technical object to a plant other than this planning plant, the system will issue a warning.
This is just a warning. Provided that the components in the BOM are also managed in the other plant, plant allocation can take place.
Procedure
You are now on the initial screen for plant allocation.
You are now in the Current Allocations screen. There you will see the allocation you have specified.
The system notes any allocations which cannot be made in a log. This may be the case, for example, when the components in the BOM are not managed in the new plant.
To view the log, use the menu bar sequence Extras ® Log.
