For materials procured externally the system distinguishes between stock components and non-stock components:

• Planned costs for a component kept in stock are calculated in exactly the same way as for a material manufactured in-house.

• Planned costs for a component not kept in stock equal the value of the purchase requisition created for the component. The value of the purchase requisition is calculated using the price specified in the material component.
