Manual Maintenance for Planning Hierarchies

Use

You can use manual maintenance when generating or changing data for a specific version of a planning hierarchy. The characteristic values (for example, purchasing organization 0001) and the related proportional factors are maintained manually.

The planning hierarchy defines the planning structure. Planning can only be run for the characteristic features that are contained in the planning hierarchy.

Prerequisites

You can only use and create characteristic values for the planning levels defined as planning characteristics in Customizing for the planning step.

Procedure

  1. Select the planning scenario and planning step that you want to create or change the hierarchy for. Go to the selection screen.
  2. Define how much planning you want to run. Use one of the following options to do this:
  1. Enter a planning hierarchy version and select the proportional factors that are to be displayed.
  2. If necessary, enter other planning hierarchy versions and compare the versions and their data.
  3. Choose ENTER . This takes you to the Overview screen.

The overview screen displays:

A maintenance view is displayed for the node by selecting one of the nodes for the planning levels in the tree. Maintain the characteristics, the proportional factors, and additional data if required (for example, the unit of measure if you are running planning for quantities in manual planning).

  1. The following methods can be used to make maintenance easier:

In the display screen, select the part of the sub-tree that you want to copy. Choose Edit ® Copy. The data is stored temporarily on the clipboard. Decide where you want to place the sub-tree and then choose Edit ® Paste.

The sub-tree and data are copied.

On the display screen, select the part of the sub-tree that you want to cut out. Choose Edit ® Cut. The part of the sub-tree you select is deleted from the hierarchy, together with its data. The data is placed on the clipboard. Decide where you want to place the sub-tree and then choose Edit ® Paste.

The sub-tree and data are inserted in the new position.

You can use this function to delete sub-trees from within the planning hierarchy.

Choose Edit ® Hierarchy display ® Delete characteristics from sub-trees. In the window that appears, enter the highest level of the sub-tree and characteristics and then choose ENTER .

You can use this function to insert sub-trees in more than one location.

To do so, choose Edit ® Hierarchy display ® Insert characteristics in sub-trees. In the window that appears, enter the highest level of the sub-tree and characteristics and then choose ENTER .

  1. Save your data. The planning hierarchy is created or changed manually.
