Replacing Process Instruction Categories (Mass Changes)

You use this procedure to replace a process instruction category in all or many master recipes at once.

Procedure

In the SAP menu, choose Logistics ® Production - Process ® Master Data ® Master Recipes ® Mass Changes ® Recipe ® Replace Process Instruction.
Enter the following data:

The key and plant of the old and new process instruction category
The change number you want to use to change the PRT and document the change

The key date as of which it is to be valid (see Engineering Change Management and Recipe Approval).

Selection criteria for the recipes in which you want to replace the process instruction category

Choose the overview variant you want to use to display the selected recipes.

Choose Choose overview var., enter the overview variant, and choose .

Choose

The system displays an overview with all recipes, phases, and process instructions that use the old process instruction category.

Before replacing the process instruction category, carry out the following steps according to your requirements:

Display the process instructions that have been selected from within the overview (see Displaying or Changing Data of Selected Recipes).

Delete the process instructions that you do not want to use anymore.

To do so, select the process instruction and choose Delete proc. instr.

Change the standard settings for mass replacement.

To do so, choose Settings ® Change replace mode.
Make settings as required and choose Copy.

Select the phases in which you want to replace the process instruction category and choose Replace proc. instr.

If you have chosen Replace with batch input session in your settings (see step 5), the system now creates a batch input session.
You can run this session any time you like. For more information, see the SAP Library BC - System Services, section Batch Input Sessions.

If you have chosen Online, the old process instruction category is now replaced in the selected phases. Depending on your system settings, the following screens are displayed:

All screens the system goes through
All screens on which an error occurs
None

If errors are displayed online, correct them and choose

or Enter to continue with mass replacement.

Check the log for errors that might have occurred during replacement (see Displaying the Error Log for Mass Changes).

If necessary, add the following data to the changed process instructions:

Missing characteristics (for example, for the definition of variables)
Missing characteristic values (for example, a recipe-specific input request)
