Process Control Data Maintenance

Purpose

When planning a process, you need to provide control information to supplement the planning data. Before order processing, the process instructions must be combined in control recipes and transferred to process control.

This section describes how you enter data required by process control while maintaining the master recipe.

Prerequisites

The following data has been created in the system:

The operations and phases of the master recipe

Control recipe destinations for the control systems and process operators involved in the process (see Customizing for Process Management)

For all control recipe destinations, details on the process instructions that are automatically generated when the control recipe is created

The process instruction categories you want to use in your master recipe (see Customizing)

Process Flow

You assign the control recipe destination that controls the execution of the corresponding process step to the phases of your master recipe.

You check which process instructions are automatically created when a control recipe for the corresponding control recipe destination is created in the process order.

You manually enter all other process instructions for the phases requiring the information for execution. You specify the following, for example:

The category and type of the process instruction, that is, its function and the type of information it conveys
The process instruction characteristics, that is, the contents of the process instruction and how it is processed

You maintain process instructions as follows:

If you want to maintain process instructions for external systems, you always use the characteristic overview.
If you want to maintain process instructions for R/3 PI sheets, you can use both the process instruction assistant and the characteristic overview.

If you use the process instruction assistant, you will be guided through process instruction definition by specific prompts. The characteristic structure is created by the system.

If you maintain your process instructions on the characteristic overview, you must create the characteristic structure yourself.

If you have created process instructions for the R/3 PI sheet, you check the PI sheet as described below and correct errors:

You simulate and test the PI sheet.
If you create your process instructions on the characteristic overview, you use the Check PI sheet function to check the characteristic structure.

You save the master recipe.
