Creating PRTs as Materials 

  1. In the SAP menu, choose Logistics ® Production Process ® Master Data ® Production Resources/Tools ® Production Resources/Tools ® Material ® Create General.
  2. If you do not want to use the production resource/tool (PRT) immediately but from a certain date in the future, choose Material ® Create ® Schedule.

  3. Enter data as required.
  4. Use a material type for which you can edit the Production Resources/Tools view. An example of such a type is FHMI defined in the standard system.

  5. Choose .
  6. The Select View(s) dialog box appears.

  7. Select the Production Resources/Tools view and any views for any other area in which the PRT is to be used. Choose .
  8. The Organizational Levels dialog box appears.

  9. Enter the plant to which you want to assign the PRT and, if necessary, organizational levels and profiles for the other views.
  10. If you have entered a material to copy from on the initial screen, also enter the organizational levels from which data is to be transferred.

  11. Choose .
  12. The first view appears.

  13. Enter data as required and choose .
  14. Repeat step 7 until you have edited all views.

By specifying the MM/PP status, you release the material for use as a production resource/tool.

You cannot change the base unit of measure or the unit of issue after you have assigned the material as a PRT to operations or phases.

  1. Save the material.
