Intervals of Available Capacity

Definition

Available capacity that replaces the available capacity of the standard available capacity in a version of available capacity for a certain period of time.

Structure

Available capacities of an interval of available capacity are only available on the workdays of their validity period. The Factory day indicator allows you to override the factory calendar and specify that

In an interval of available capacity, either the same available capacity is valid on each workday (interval of available capacity with one-day cycle duration) or a different available capacity is valid for each weekday (interval of available capacity with seven-day cycle duration).

When you enter a cycle duration for the interval of available capacity, you only have to determine the shift values for one cycle in the interval.

The following graphics illustrate the principle of intervals of available capacity.

Graphic A illustrates a standard available capacity that has an unlimited validity period. In graphic B, however, an interval of available capacity (interval 2) has been defined, and the standard available capacity (interval 1 and 3) is still valid outside of the defined interval.

A cycle duration of seven days was set for the interval of available capacity. The available capacity for the eighth and ninth days in the interval is therefore the same as the available capacity on the first and second days.
