Standard Available Capacity

Definition

A standard available capacity is the available capacity of a capacity category that is valid in all versions of the available capacity provided that no interval of available capacity is defined. Unlike available capacity within an interval of available capacity, standard available capacity theoretically has an unlimited validity period.

Use

The system uses the standard available capacity, for example, to calculate the lead time in the recipe.

You use a standard available capacity when you cannot or do not want to describe your available capacity in detail. However, if you want, for example, scheduling and capacity planning to be able to calculate available capacity that is specific to a shift, you have to use versions of available capacity.

Structure

The following is used to determine standard available capacity:

A standard available capacity has unlimited validity. The same available capacity is valid on each workday of the factory calendar.

Unit of Measurement

Based on the data from which standard available capacity is determined, the system calculates the operating time of the capacity in the unit "hours" and available capacity in the base unit of measurement or in one of the units of measurement you have entered. You must first maintain a conversion before you can enter a unit of measurement that has a different dimension than that of the base unit of measurement. For more information, see Converting the Base Unit of Measurement.
