General Data

Definition

Depending on the capacity category, you can maintain the following general data: the capacity planner group that is responsible for processing and planning a capacity, the indicator with which you specify if the capacity is a pooled capacity, as well as the personnel subarea grouping.

Use

Planner Group

The capacity planner group is responsible for maintaining and planning capacities. It is specified in Customizing for Resources under Determine Capacity Planner.

Pooled Capacity Indicator

You can use the Pooled capacity indicator to control whether the capacity you are creating can be assigned to several different resources.

You can only select the Pooled capacity indicator in capacity maintenance. If you create a capacity in resource maintenance, the capacity is only assigned to this resource. It cannot be a pooled capacity. If you want to assign a pooled capacity to a resource, it has to be created beforehand.

You can use pooled capacities to assign the capacity "line operator" to several processing units, for example.

Personnel Subarea Grouping

You can use a personnel subarea grouping to create and select shift sequences or shift definitions for special areas (for example, various plants or various areas within a plant). For a personnel subarea grouping, you maintain the shift sequence or shift definition in Customizing (for example, for the resource). The system then displays them for selection when you enter this grouping in available capacity maintenance.
