Deleting Resources, Marking for Deletion

Use

You can delete a resource from any place it is no longer used, for example, in a recipe or process order.

Prerequisites

You can only delete a resource when it is not used. Resources in logically deleted objects that physically still exist on the database cannot be deleted (for example, in operations). A deleted resource cannot be archived because its data is not available on the database anymore.

If a resource is still used, you can mark it for deletion by setting a deletion flag. A resource with a deletion flag cannot be assigned. You can remove a deletion flag. You can archive and delete a resource despite a deletion flag.

Procedures

Delete

On the Basic Data screen for resource maintenance, choose Resource ® Delete.

Setting/Removing Deletion Flags

On the Basic Data screen for resource maintenance, choose Extras ® Status ® Deletion flag/Remove.

The system confirms the entry.

You can use a deletion flag as selection criteria for resources to be deleted in the next reorganization run.
