Manual Planning Screens

Features

The following screens are displayed in planning sessions:

Initial screen

In the initial screen, choose the planning layout for the planning step you have selected, thus defining the framework for the current planning session.

Alternatively, use a manual planning variant.

Characteristics screen

The selected planning layout normally contains variables for specific characteristics. By entering characteristic values for these variables in the characteristics screen, you specify the levels to be including in planning in this session. You can also specify the plan version(s) and time frames.

If you do not enter a characteristic value for a variable, the relevant characteristic is used to aggregate.

When you make general selections for your planning layout, define (optional) variables for the Store and Store group characteristics. If you only want to plan for a specific store, enter the relevant store in the store field. If you leave the store field initial, the entire store group is processed.

If you want to use a different currency than your database currency for your planning step, enter this in the entry currency field. This is the currency that is then used to enter or display your planning data.

Overview screen and period screen

After entering the values for the variables, go to the entry screen for your planning figures. The overview screen is the entry screen for planning layouts, as defined in Customizing. If you have specified that Microsoft Excel is the user interface for planning with a particular layout in the manual planning variant, Excel is integrated in the overview screen when you start planning.

The period screen is a planning layout that is generated automatically by the system, based on the overview screen. It enhances the original dimensions of the lines in the headers. All the periods are entered in the lines. Note: if Excel is integrated in the overview screen, period screens cannot be created.

If the Time characteristic (period/year) has been defined in the value columns for the relevant overview screen, data can only be entered for lines that refer to the time frame for the relevant columns.
