Use this function to create new articles that do not have article masters in the SAP System. This is used very regularly in the fashion business, for example, as articles are not normally available when planning is done. Planned articles can be included in the planning hierarchy in the same way as regular articles. Planning is also done normally for planned articles.

Planned articles are created in Master data for Merchandise and Assortment Planning using article numbers, descriptions, selected attributes (for example, price band category, season) and characteristic values (for example, size, color) only.

Planned articles can be created in three ways:

• Manual maintenance: article attributes are entered manually
• Reference merchandise category: attributes are taken from the reference article for the relevant merchandise category
• Reference articles: attributes are taken from reference articles
