Inserting Text Symbols in the PC Editor

Use

You use this procedure to insert a text symbol in a long text using the PC editor.

In the PC editor, you must insert text symbols as commands.
In the SAPscript editor, you directly insert the text symbol in the text field.
You must use the same syntax in both cases (see below).

Prerequisites

One of the following requirements is met:

The value of the characteristic to which the text symbol refers can be assigned automatically in the process order or when you create a control recipe.
You maintain a process data request or process data calculation formula. The characteristic to which the text symbol refers is assigned as a message characteristic in the same process instruction.

Procedure

In the PC editor, choose Edit ® Command ® Insert command.

Select the Symbols entry.

Enter the text symbol in the corresponding input field.

The text symbol is inserted in the text as a command.
