Use
Not all the objects used in IDES processes have short texts that can be created in multiple languages. The short texts for the following objects are maintained in only one language in the R/3 standard system, regardless of the language in which you have logged on:
Order (production order, internal order)
However, if you want to use these objects for training and demonstrations, you can use the IDES language switch to save these short texts in multiple languages. The basis for this is a text pool that contains the short texts of selected objects in the IDES languages. You can set the IDES language switch for the language you require to replace the short texts of the specified objects. Note that this function supports only those objects for which multi-language maintenance of short texts is not available.
Use
You always work with one language in your IDES system. If this is the case, you should use the language switch to overwrite the short texts of all objects with relevant short texts in the target language.
Procedure
If you are calling up the language switch for the first time, a dialog box appears.
It contains a short description of the tool.If you select the Do not display dialog box any more check box, this dialog box will no longer be displayed on future occasions.
The short text update screen appears. The screen is divided into two areas. The steps that follow refer to the upper area of the screen.
The system displays a message when the function is complete.
Usage
It is possible in your IDES System for different employees to work in different logon languages. This means that each employee can overwrite the descriptions of objects in a given application area (IDES process) in the required language.
Procedure
The short text update screen appears. The screen is divided into two areas. The steps that follow refer to the lower area of the screen.
