Define Message
Schemas for Inbound Delivery
In this step, you define your message
determination schema for inbound deliveries and assign it to the delivery type
Inbound delivery.
A message determination schema contains the
valid message types for each message application (new printout, urging letter,
etc.). This allows the system to automatically suggest the associated messages
in an inbound delivery.
You must first define the message type and then include it in a message
schema.
Note
Only one schema and only one message type can
be assigned to the inbound delivery.
SAP
Recommendation
- To define a new message schema, copy a
similar, already existing one and make the necessary changes.
- If you define your own message schema, the key
should begin with the letters Y or Z, since SAP keeps these name slots free in
the standard system supplied.
Activities
1. Check the
extent to which you can use the message determination schemas supplied in the
standard SAP System and to what extent you must change them. Also check the
assignment of the message schema to the inbound delivery.
2. Define your
message schema for the inbound delivery.
3. Assign your
message schema to the message application of the shipping notification. To do
so, choose the step Assign Message Schema for Inbound
Delivery in the Customizing activity.
