You can process the data transferred from the POS systems by a number of functions in SAP Retail, including:

• Inventory Management
• Financial Accounting
• Profit Center Accounting
• Cost Accounting
• Profitability Accounting
• Information structure updating
• Payment card processing
• Cash budget management (Treasury)

So that the required system performance can be achieved, you should only use those functions that you really require. You should switch off all other functions in Customizing. The functions you wish to use should be carefully configured so your system resources are used most efficiently.
