Scheduling Data in the Work Center

In scheduling, the system calculates the start and finish dates of activities, the float times and the capacity requirements. Scheduling uses the following data from the work center:

Operating Time

If you specify a unit smaller than "day" for the duration in the activity, scheduling uses the operating time you maintained in the work center.

Scheduling Formula for Other Types of Internal Processing

The system calculates the actual duration of the activity using the formula entered on the scheduling screen of the work center and the duration you specified in the network activity. In the work center, networks are considered to be one of the "other types of internal processing", so on the Scheduling screen, in the section Execution Time the formula is maintained in the field Other formula. Generally, the system uses the value which you entered for Duration in the network activity, however you can specify other parameters in the formula.

When you enter a work center for an activity, but do not enter a formula for other types of internal processing in this work center, the system will schedule using the duration you entered in the activity.

Calendar

If you do not specify a calendar in the work center, the factory calendar is used in scheduling.
