Settling Orders for Projects

Use

You can settle an order for a project:

In the structure report, the order is displayed with its full costs, regardless of the type of settlement. The view for the relevant WBS element, however, shows the following differences:

The settlement logic for orders for projects provides that, when costs are settled, responsibility for them passes to the receiver. If you settle to a different object in the project hierarchy, the costs are reassigned from the sender to the receiver. The same logic applies to settlement between WBS elements. Elimination of internal business volume always takes place in the WBS element superior to the sender in the hierarchy.

For more information, refer to Hierarchy Structure and its Effects on the Values Displayed .

Order A1 is assigned to WBS element W1 and has settled $1000 to it. Order A1 is then moved to WBS element W2. The order incurs further costs of $2000, making $3000 in total. WBS element W2 (the superior element) shows only the portion not yet settled - that is, $2000. The original $1000 continues to be shown in WBS element W1.
