Sorting and Grouping Project Objects

Use

The result of sorting and grouping project objects is basically the same in both cases. The system sorts the project objects according to the selection criteria in ascending or descending order. In both cases the system sorts the project objects according to the selection criteria in ascending or descending order. In grouping a totals bar is also displayed that separates different values or groups similar values.

Procedure

Choose

(sort) or

(group).

The Select Sort Criteria or Select Grouping Criteria dialog box appears.

Copy the required selection criteria for project objects from the right-hand column to the left-hand column.

Here you can select fields that are not displayed in the table area.

For each criterion also select Ascending or Descending.

After you have defined the selection criteria, choose Continue.

The project objects are sorted according to the selection criteria. In the case of grouping, colored total bars are also displayed.

If you want to display the original project hierarchy, choose

Undo in the list box for the sort icon

Undo in the list box for the group icon

If you want to use the sort or group criteria again later, choose

Apply in the list box for the sort icon

Apply in the list box for the group icon
