Editing Relationships in the Overview 

Use

You can create, edit and delete relationships in a tabular overview.

Prerequisites

You have created activities in a network or standard network.

Procedures

Create relationships

1. Call up the activity overview in a network or standard network.

2. Select the activities for which you wish to create relationships.

3. Choose Activity ® Relationship overv.

The relationship overview for the first selected activity appears. All the activities of the current network are displayed in the Activity selection section (lower list) of the dialog box If activities in the current network are linked by relationships to other networks, these activities are also displayed.

 

You can thus link the current activity with an activity from another network via activity selection.

You can edit relationships between activities in several ways:

Edit Relationship

Procedure

As predecessor
  1. In the relationship overview choose the Predecessor tab page.
  2. In the activity selection list select the activity that should immediately proceed the selected activity.
  3. Choose Create relationship.

As successor
  1. In the relationship overview choose the Successor tab page.
  2. In the activity selection list select the activity that should immediately follow the selected activity.
  3. Choose Create relationship.

Mixed (predecessors and successors)

1. In the relationship overview choose the Mixed tab page.

2. In the activity overview select an activity as a predecessor or successor.

3. Choose Create relationship.

4. Set the Scs indicator for successors in the relationship overview.

If you do not set this indicator, the relationship is a predecessor relationship

4 Select the relationship and choose Details ® Detailed information for object.

The detail screen for the relationship appears.

5 Enter the detailed data for the relationship and choose Back.

The relationship overview appears again.

6. Choose the Next arrow for the next selected activity and repeat steps 2 to 4.

7. When you have created all the required relationships, save.

Delete Relationships

When you delete relationships, you change the structure of the network. This can affect scheduling and the capacity load.
  1. Call up the activity overview.
  2. Select the activity whose relationships you want to delete.
  3. Choose Activities ® Relationship overv.

The relationship overview for the selected activity appears.
  1. In the relationship overview select the relationship to delete.
  2. Choose Edit ® Object ® Delete and confirm the message.

6. Save your data.
