Maintaining Activities: Overview

There are several ways of maintaining activities and their data in the Project System.

Activities in (Standard) Networks

In standard networks and networks you can maintain the data for the activities:

On the activity overview

You can maintain the data of internally processed activities on two overviews:

The basic data overview shows the general data for the activity such as its duration, control key and description.
The work overview shows the work-related data for the activity such as the work center, CO activity type, number of required capacities and work percentage.

On the activity detail screens

You can maintain various data for activities on the detail screens: You can enter data for external processing on the detail screen of an internally processed activity. This is useful if at some point you can no longer perform the activity in-house and have to have it performed externally.

You can maintain all other activity data under the menus Activity, Details and Extras.

Activities in the Graphic

You can maintain activities in the network graphic, Gantt chart and in the project planning board.

Maintaining Activities and WBS Elements Together

You can edit WBS elements and activities at the same time, for example when you already know as you are setting up your project which WBS elements will be broken down in more detail with activities.

To do so, use structure planning, if you want to work in list format, or the project planning board, if you want to work graphically.
