You can settle a network to various objects, for example, to a project, a cost center or a sales order. The settlement rule determines the objects where the network costs are to be settled and how they are settled.

If you assign the network to other objects, for example a sales order or a WBS element, you can use the strategy you defined in Customizing to determine whether and how the settlement rules are taken from other objects, or whether a standard rule is used.
