proportion/product unit
Definition
The batch-specific material unit of
measure is an alternative unit of measure of a material , for which you can define the base unit of measure on a batch-specific basis.
While the conversion ratio for other
alternative units is predefined in the material, for batch-specific material
units of measure, you define:
- The planned conversion in the
material
- The actual conversion ratio to the base unit
of measure for the batch
Batch-specific material units of measure are
used when the conversion ratio for the unit of measure to the base unit may
vary for different batches of a material.
There are two types of this particular kind of
alternative unit:
This is a unit of
measure in which you can enter proportions of the material's base unit of
measure. The total quantity (or physical quantity) can consist of various
proportions. For example, in addition to the fruit juice content, 100
millilitres of a given batch of fruit juice contains 30 milligrammes of
vitamin C and 10.5 grammes of sugar.
This is a unit of
measure that describes the total quantity of a material as an alternative to
the base unit of measure. For example, one piece of a given batch weighs 10
Kilogrammes or is a pipe 1250 millimetres long.
