Defines how a recipient receives documents from the document distribution system.
The distribution type affects the distribution flow. For example, it defines whether original application files are sent as a copy or a reference to the document.
The following distribution types are among those defined:
| Key | Description |
|---|---|
| RMA | SAP-Mail (Originals as attachment) |
| RML | SAP-Mail (Documents as reference) |
| INT | E-Mail (Originals as attachment) |
| HTP | Internet (Access to originals via an ITS) |
| ORI | Post (Distribution location receives copies of |
| originals) | |
| LET | Post (Distribution location receives mail with |
| document references) | |
| COV | Post (Printout of document list) |
| PRT | |
| PLO | Plot |
| FAX | Fax |
The distribution types for the document distribution system are based on the Communication Types of Central Address Management .
If a distribution type defines that distribution is processed by a distribution location, documents are sent to this distribution location first, then forwarded, and finally sent to the recipient.
