Formula Parameters

A formula is identified using a formula key. It is made up of formula parameters that are identified using parameter IDs.

The parameter ID determines

The definition and key word assigned to a parameter
The parameter's dimension
The parameter's name in a formula

You create formula parameters in Customizing for Resources under Define Formula Parameters for Work Centers.

Each formula parameter has a data field assigned to it either in Customizing, in the resource, or in the recipe. When a formula is used, each formula parameter receives the value that you maintained in the assigned data field.

Origin of the Formula Parameter Values

In Customizing, you must enter an origin for each formula parameter. The origin is used to regulate the assignment of the formula parameter to a data field. Depending on the origin, the formula parameter is either assigned a data field automatically, or you must enter a field name in addition to the origin. Each formula parameter is also assigned a key word.
