Saving Project Objects as Templates 

Use

If you want to use WBS elements, networks, or activities (from operative projects, standard projects or simulations) as templates for other projects, you can store them in the Templates screen area. This enables you to retrieve the data from the templates quickly.

Procedure

You have opened a project in the project planning board.

  1. Choose .

    2. The Templates subscreen appears in the left-hand screen area.

  2. Here select the group or the category in which you want to copy the new template.

    3. Example: If you want to store a standard WBS element as a template, select Standard templates or Standard WBS elements.

  3. In the context menu, choose Include in Templates.

A dialog box appears.
  1. Enter the necessary data.
  2. Choose .

Result

The project object appears in the corresponding category in Templates and can now be used to Create by Copying.

These templates are kept here until you remove them. To do so, choose Remove from templates or Empty templates in the context menu.

If you have not stored project data in the templates, you can access other templates by choosing Create with other template in the context menu.
