With the transactional app Request Material, you can request a new material for an organization. This app is easily accessible for a general user with limited knowledge of master data governance.

Key Features

  • Lean requestor form for a user new to MDG

  • Automatically generated list of potential duplicates

    You can customize the Duplicates button to display the + sign when a certain number of duplicates are found (for example, 20+).

  • Track My Requests UI to track the request status

  • Option to upload attachments containing request details

    When you upload an attachment, the Reason for Request field is automatically filled with the text Check attached documents.

  • If the long material number is activated in your back-end system, long material number can be input in the Material Number field.

Technical Features

In addition, this app supports the following technical features and options. Some of these features require additional components or settings in your system landscape:

  • If the long material number has been activated in your back-end system, it is automatically displayed in the <Material> field in this app. For more information, see Long Material Number in SAP Fiori Apps.

  • This app enables you to upload documents. For security reasons, we strongly recommend that you install a virus scanner in your system landscape. For more information, see Virus Scanning.

System Landscape Requirements

In order to be able to implement this app, your system landscape has to be enabled for SAP Fiori. One of the requirements for your system landscape is that your back-end product meets the required product version stack:
