Overdue Issues in Promotions: Logistics Manager View (KPI Tile)

The analytical app displays the key performance indicator (KPI) Overdue Issues in Promotions: Logistics Manager View. This is the number of overdue issues in retail promotions, with pre-filtering on urgency to see overdue issues only, and with an additional filter on the process steps that are typically relevant for an employee concerned with logistics: listing, allocation table generation, source of supply determination, blocking, stock transport order creation, vendor purchase order creation, goods receipt from vendor, and goods receipt from DC.

An overdue issue is reported if a process step in a promotion (such as listing or allocation table generation) is overdue, according to defined validity dates and lead times.

You can drill down to the overview screen Issues in Promotion Preparation and from there into the issue details, with insight-to-action capabilities to solve the issues.

Key Features

The key figure Overdue Issues in Promotions: Logistics Manager View shows the number of overdue issues in retail promotions, with pre-filtering on urgency to see overdue issues only, and with an additional filter on the process steps that are typically relevant for an employee concerned with logistics. Issues also include processing errors in ERP.

This KPI tile shows only issues that are overdue. The display currency is pre-filled with “EUR”.

“Overdue” means that it is already critical to take immediate action in the respective process steps in the preparation of a promotion, to ensure that the promotion sales can start on time. This is important information for the responsible manager, such as the logistics manager.

A process step that is overdue counts as only one issue per promotion, even though there might be hundreds of articles affected by this issue.

A drilldown exists from this tile to the overview screen Issues in Promotion Preparation and from there to a master detail screen for all process steps of a selected promotion with issues, with insight-to action and collaboration capabilities. The filter for urgency Overdue is passed to the overview screen as the selected fast filter Overdue, and only overdue promotions are shown in the rows when you enter the overview screen. On the overview screen, it is possible to change the selected fast filter for the urgency to see all issues, only due issues, or only blocking issues.

The filter on the process steps is also passed from the tile to the overview screen. There, it is possible to further restrict the selection to a subset of those process steps defined on the tile for the logistics manager role, but it is not possible to add additional process steps.

The process steps “source of supply determination” and “blocking” can never become overdue, and so they are not contained in the number of overdue issues. They are nevertheless assigned to the process step filter on the tile, because they are passed to the overview screen. Here, the logistics manager can change the urgency fast filter, which is pre-set to “overdue” for his role, to “all issues” or “blocking”, for example, to get an overview of all issues or blocking issues for the process steps in his or her responsibility.

From the overview and master detail screen, it is also possible to navigate to further apps. For more information, see section "Master Detail Screen" and "Navigation Targets" in SAP Smart Business for Retail Promotion Execution.

This KPI tile can also be used as an example for the creation of customer tiles in the KPI modeler, with specific display currency and possible pre-filtering of process steps, urgency, error relevance, sales organization, and so on, to suit the business needs of roles such as logistics manager, logistics team member, promotion manager/promotion team member, purchaser, or master data expert with responsibilities for different organizational units.

In the KPI modeler, you define the scope of the business data that is displayed later on in the KPI tile of your app. For more information about the KPI modeler, see Adding a KPI in the SAP Smart Business Cockpits Administrator's Guide. Each business role can have predefined tiles in its launchpad that correspond to filtered KPIs for the information relevant to them.
