 SAP Web Dispatcher: Setup of Communication

 

To configure SSL communication between the client, SAP Web Dispatcher, and SAP Mobile Platform Server, you have to configure the SAP Web Dispatcher profile parameters and establish trust between the components.

The SAP Web Dispatcher Web Administration interface includes a PSE (personal security environment) management tool that you can use to generate and manage PSEs. The instructions provided in this section refer to this tool rather than sapgenpse. For more information, see SAP Note 2009483Information published on SAP site.

In the standard configuration, the Web Administration interface for SAP Web Dispatcher is available at the following URL:  http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/admin/.

This URL is defined in the parameter icm/HTTP/admin_<xx>.

Replacing Default SAP Web Dispatcher PSEs

Replace the default self-signed server certificate with a CA-signed certificate.

If you use X.509 user certificates for authentication, also replace the Web Dispatcher client certificate with a CA-signed certificate.

Configuring SAP Web Dispatcher to Trust the Client

Import the Afaria CA signing certificate into the truststore so that Web Dispatcher will trust the user certificate presented by the client.

Configuring SAP Web Dispatcher to Trust SAP Mobile Platform Server

Import the CA certificate used to sign the SAP Mobile Platform Server certificate into the truststore.
