Search Engine Service

You can use the search engine service (SES), which is part of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) ABAP to search for business objects in SAP applications (SAP ERP 6.0 or higher) using the TREX search engine.

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search is a search solution offered by SAP as a standalone product, which provides uniform, complete, and secure real-time access to structured and unstructured business data and information. You can use the search to access external information if you integrate external search services.

SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator

SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator (SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator) accelerates queries and reduces the cost of running SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW). Together with SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator, SAP NetWeaver BW provides instant access to information for business users. This is based on in-memory data compression, advanced data partitioning, and high-performance indexing using in-memory technology.

Search and Classification TREX

The SAP NetWeaver standalone engine Search and Classification TREX provides SAP applications with services for searching, classification, and text-mining of large document collections (unstructured data) as well as for searching in anad aggregation of business objects (structured data). TREX takes care of the indexing and provides the search technology for search solutions such as SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and services such as the search engine service. As a SAP NetWeaver standalone engine, TREX is an important element of the search functions in SAP solutions. However, TREX is not licenced as a standalone product.
