In the hierarchy view of the Web Dynpro application USMD_ENTITY
, you can visualize and change the structure of a hierarchy and the master data objects belonging to this hierarchy. You can also use it to work on several master data objects in parallel if the list view is available.
For the creation of master data objects, the integration into single-object processing is offered.
Changes to multiple master data objects at the same time can be done using the integration into the mass change process.
You are the current processor of a change request.
If you are not the current processor, you can only visualize and search data, and you might have to create a change request later if you want to change the data.
A standard data model has been assigned to you. The data model can be derived from the settings of the PFCG role that is assigned to your user.
This section describes how to work with hierarchies using the Collective Processing Web Dynpro application.
Visualize and Search
In the hierarchy view, you can navigate to the structure of a hierarchy expanding or collapsing the levels in the hierarchy. The structural view of the hierarchy is derived automatically from the master data objects configuration for descriptions and attributes. For more information, see Configuring Hierarchy Types.
If applicable you can switch between the active and inactive versions of the hierarchy structure and master data objects.
In the list view, you can filter master data objects and print or download a list of objects.
Create Hierarchies or Hierarchy Versions
If applicable for the hierarchy type in process, you can create a new hierarchy selecting
.If applicable for the hierarchy type in process, you can create a new hierarchy version selecting
.Change or Create Master Data
To change single objects, select the object key which is displayed as a hyperlink. To change more than one object a time, select several objects of the same type and choose Mass Change
. To create objects, choose New
and insert these new objects into the hierarchy in a later step.
Moving Hierarchy Objects
To move objects witin a hierarchy, use the arrow buttons, the drag and drop function, or the cut and paste function selecting
and then .Inserting Hierarchy Objects
To insert single objects or several objects in one step, choose Insert
. Here you can also locate objects that are not yet assigned to the hierarchy using the Not Assigned
option. Depending on the hierarchy type you can form hierarchies as nets: One object can have several higher-level objects.
Removing or Deleting Hierarchy Objects
You can remove hierarchy objects from the hierarchy selecting
. You can start a deletion process to remove hierarchy objects from the hierarchy and to delete the objects selecting .Hierarchy Attributes and Hierarchy Ranges
You can change hierarchy attributes and permitted ranges with the context menu using right-click. Ranges can be expanded at any time to see which entities currently fall into the range.
Saving Hierarchy Changes
You can save changes to the master data or hierarchy structures with a change request that you need to create either before or in parallel to the usage of the Collective Processing Web Dynpro application.
The following example shows how to move a cost center within a cost center group hierarchy and how to create a hierarchy change request for this change.
Create Hierarchy Change Request
In the MDG workcenter Financial Controlling Governance
, select and choose Create Hierarchy Change Request for Cost Center Group
.
Enter the description of the change request and the edition. Then choose Next
and provide the reason for the change on the explanation tab. Choose Submit
to create the change request.
Find Cost Center in Hierarchy
Select Process Hierarchy for Cost Center Group
.
Enter the edition, the controlling area and the cost center hierarchy.
To find the cost center you want to move in a cost center group hierarchy, choose Search Term
. The system expands the sub tree of the hierarchy and highlights the found cost center.
Move Cost Center in Hierarchy
To move the cost center within the hierarchy mark the line of the cost center and choose
. Then you mark the line of the new location of the cost center and choose . Alternatively, you can use the drag and drop function to move hierarchy items.Save Hierarchy
Choose Save
and select the change request you have created beforehand to submit your changes.
