The search results are displayed in a list. To the left of the list, you can find a navigation area for further narrowing down the results.
The list is sorted by relevance, which is calculated based on the following factors:
Degree of match between the search team and the hit (from the exact character string to less exact matches)
Number of hits within an object (in documents or text fields proportional to the text length and frequency of other words)
An entry in the list corresponds to a business object or document and is structured as follows:
Image and title
The image is either an icon that illustrates the type of object found or a picture of the object, for example a photograph of a product. Depending on the object and the configuration, the title can be the document title, the material number, or the business partner name, for example.
Object type
The object type of the hit is displayed to the right of the title, for example marketing document or business partner.
Properties
Important properties of the object found are displayed below the title, for example the dimensions, price, and short description of a product.
Note
The positions of the search terms in the property values or in texts are highlighted so that you can understand why an object was found.
Details and related actions
The links at the end of each entry allow you to display more details and, depending on the system configuration, related actions.
You can perform the following actions in the results list and in the navigation area:
