Objects on the Web User InterfaceLocate this document in the navigation structure

The object navigator differentiates between the following types of objects:

  • Central object

The object navigator displays the most important attributes for this object on the General tab page, as well as relations with other objects on further tab pages. The system displays the ID of the central object in the title row when you call up the object navigator.

If a selected object becomes the central object by displaying it in the object navigator, the layout changes according to the Customizing settings for that object type. The system adjusts the breadcrumb trail by inserting a link to the new central object.

If the side panel is active, further data for the central object is displayed there.

  • Related object

A related object lies in a structure and has a relation with a central object.

    • If you select a related object, for example from the breadcrumb trail, the related object is loaded as the new central object. All objects can be selected using their links and have a context menu. You can run various actions from the context menu, such as create, change, copy, and so on.

    • If you select one or more related objects by marking their rows, you can run actions by choosing the available pushbuttons.
