Processing Billing Plans
During certain kinds of sales order processing, you may want to bill a particular item according to a schedule of billing dates. For example, you may want to bill a rental contract with monthly invoices for the duration of the contract. Or, you may have a make-to-order item which is assigned to a project and you want to bill the customer a certain percentage of the total as different stages of the work are completed. The schedule of billing dates is called a
billing plan
. Billing plans can be created automatically during processing, provided that the necessary control data has been maintained in Customizing for Sales and Distribution.
