Deleting a class with engineering change management

  • When you delete a class, this affects the characteristics of the class. Once you have processed the characteristics of the class using engineering change management, you can only delete this class using a change number. If you try to delete the class without a change number, the function is terminated.

  • Before you can delete a class with objects assigned to it using engineering change management, the change number must be active for classification.

You can reactivate a class that has been deleted using engineering change management. To do this, choose Create class. You do not need to enter a change number. However, the characteristics of the class are still deleted. You can only enter characteristics in the class again if you use a change number.
