BCV Query Cache

You use this function to improve the performance of the system when processing queries.

The query cache has the following features:

• It is user-dependent to avoid problems with authorization checks that the system executes within the data provision technologies called from BCV.

• It is time-dependent to avoid problems related to outdated query results.

• It is cross-session enabled to support the use of cached query results from the side panel also in the view area.

• It deletes old entries to ensure that the cache size does not grow endlessly.

• It can be configured to set up the duration of the cache in general, based on the context key and query ID, or based on the context key alone.

• It can be skipped in general, or for a specific user.

• It can be reset per user, date, query ID, or search ID.

You can specify the query cache duration and switch off the query cache in Customizing, under  Cross-Application Components  Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications  Business Context Viewer  Query Management  Maintain Query Cache .

You can delete the query cache in Customizing, under  Cross-Application Components  Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications  Business Context Viewer  Query Management  Delete Query Cache .

The query dispatcher accesses the query cache. You can adjust the query dispatcher settings in Customizing, under  Cross-Application Components  Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications  Business Context Viewer  Query Management  Maintain Query Dispatcher .
