Function documentationTransfer of Data to Talent Management

You can use this function to transfer existing Talent Management data from other applications into Talent Management (PA-TM). Therefore, you can continue to use talent groups in Talent Management that you previously implemented for Succession Planning based on SAP E-Recruiting (PA-ER-SP).

Features

You can transfer the following information to Talent Management:

Data from Succession Planning in E-Recruiting (PA-ER-SP)

For more information, see Transfer of Data from SAP E-Recruiting to Talent Management.

Data from Career and Succession Planning (PA-PD-SP)
  • You can transfer assignments of successors to positions to Talent Management.

  • You can identify the positions for which you transfer successor assignments to Talent Management as key positions.

  • The following prerequisites apply to the data transfer:

    • A central person (object type CP) exists for all assigned successors.

    • The personnel numbers of all assigned successors and the positions to which they are assigned exist in both Career and Succession Planning and Talent Management.

    • All successor assignments that you want to transfer are complete.

  • To transfer the data, you use the report Transfer Successor Assignments to Talent Management (RPTMC_MIGRATE_SUCCESSIONS). For more information, see the report documentation.

Recommendation Recommendation

The system also creates values for the ranking and the readiness of the assigned successors for the successor assignments that you want to transfer to Talent Management. Since no ranking or readiness is defined for successor assignments in Career and Succession Planning, the system cannot transfer these values from there.

Therefore, we recommend that you create an entry such as Not Specified in Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development by choosing Start of the navigation path Succession Planning Next navigation step Define Ranking End of the navigation path and Start of the navigation path Succession Planning Next navigation step Define Readiness End of the navigation path. You can then use this entry for all successor assignments that you transfer from Career and Succession Planning.

End of the recommendation.
Data from Objective Settings and Appraisals (PA-PD-PM)
  • You can transfer performance and potential appraisals that users entered via the Objective Setting and Appraisals component to Talent Management.

  • The system also stores the values that are stored in the Object Setting and Appraisals tables in the infotypes Potential (7408) and Performance (7409) of Talent Management.

  • The following prerequisites apply to the data transfer:

    • The performance and potential values created using the Object Setting and Appraisals component are available in the system in which you implement Talent Management.

    • The performance and potential values have been created for a person (object type P) or a central person (object type CP).

    • The appraisal documents with which the performance and potential values have been created are completed.

    • The transferred performance and potential values are stored in the Final Appraisal (FAPP) column.

This means that this column must exist in the appraisal template for the selected appraisal elements.

  • To transfer the data, you use the report Transfer Performance and Potential Values to Talent Management (RPTMC_MIGRATE_PERFPOT). For more information, see the report documentation.
