The phrase library has been defined in Customizing for
Basic Data and Tools
under
Specify Phrase Libraries and Phrase Groups
.
In the Basic Data and Tools menu , choose
The Import Phrases: Parameters
screen appears.
If you have defined an exchange profile in Customizing for
Basic Data and Tools
, enter the key for the exchange profile and confirm your entry.
The settings in the exchange profile are transferred.
Note
If you want to work with engineering change management, you must enter the change number in the exchange profile.
Make sure that the path and file name for the transfer file and directory on the application server have been entered in the
File with path
field.

Set the
Phrase set assignmts
indicator if you have specified the assignments of phrases to the corresponding phrase sets in the transfer file, and want to import them.
Note
Any assignments you want to make later must be done manually.
Choose
Language Selection
and check whether you want to import the phrase texts in all languages selected.

Choose

.
The SAP system checks the transfer file and determines the phrases to be created or changed.

Select the log for your transfer file by double-clicking it and check any error messages there

To correct the transfer file, in the
Basic Data and Tools menu

.Make the changes in an ASCII editor and then choose
Upload File
.
Go back and on the phrase import screen choose

Transfer/Start Time
.
A dialog box appears in which you can set the start date. After you have saved your data, the SAP system starts the data transfer for the start date specified.
On the phrase import screen, choose
Direct Input
to display the log for the database update.
Choose
with the quick info text
Execute
, select the log for your transfer file, and choose
Job log
.
The system generates a list of all messages for the background job.
Evaluate the messages and make the necessary corrections.
The results of the import depend on the your transfer parameters (see Phrase Import ).
After the import, you can check the phrases in
phrase management
(see
Phrase Editing
).
